Serious Violence Duty Grant

The Serious Violence Duty Grant is an opportunity for organisations to seek funding for interventions to prevent serious violence in Northamptonshire. We are looking for projects which will address out current priorities.

Our priorities for 2024 are:

  1. Knife Crime
  2. Personal Robbery
  3. Youth violence (under 25)

Eligibility

  • Funding can only be awarded to new project
  • The project must be completed by 31 March 2025
  • Must focus on primary prevention across our priorities or two recommendations in the Serious Violence Duty 2023-2025 strategy
  • Must demonstrate how it links to our four strategic themes

Evaluation Metrics

Statutory output metrics:

  • Reduction in hospital admissions for assaults with a knife or sharp object
  • A reduction in knife and sharp object enabled serious violence recorded by the police
  • Homicides recorded by the police

County serious violence risks and protective factor output metrics:

  • Reduced offending and victimisation
  • Reduced involvement with statutory services
  • Improved attendance/improved behaviour and attainment
  • Improved employability
  • Improved mental health and wellbeing
  • Improved physical health
  • Improved attitudes and beliefs about healthy relationships

SVD Long term outcomes

  • Children and young people achieve positive outcomes
  • Communities feel safer
  • Serious violence is reduced
